How do I record a memo?
Open the Record tab (the microphone icon at the bottom). Tap the large red button to start recording — MemoMap will automatically capture your GPS location. Tap it again to stop. You'll be prompted to name the memo; MemoMap suggests a name based on your location.
How do I delete a memo?
In the Memos tab, swipe left on any memo to reveal the Delete button. Tap it to permanently remove the memo and its audio file from your device. You can also long-press a memo for additional options.
Why isn't my location appearing?
MemoMap needs Location access to tag recordings. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → MemoMap and select While Using the App. Make sure Location Services is enabled at the top of that screen too.
Why isn't the microphone working?
If MemoMap can't access your microphone, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and make sure MemoMap is toggled on.
How do I add the widget to my home screen?
Long-press your home screen until icons jiggle, then tap the + button in the top corner. Search for "MemoMap" and choose the small square widget. Tap it to go straight to the Record screen.
How do I add a lock screen widget?
Long-press your lock screen and tap Customize. Tap the widget area below the time, then tap Add Widgets and search for "MemoMap". Both a circular and a rectangular option are available.
Can I record at a custom location instead of where I am?
Yes! Open the Map tab and long-press anywhere on the map. A blue pin will appear — tap it to open a recording sheet attached to that exact location.
Are my recordings backed up to iCloud?
No. MemoMap stores all recordings and data locally on your device only. Nothing is sent to iCloud or any other server. To keep your recordings safe, make sure your iPhone is included in your iCloud or iTunes backup.
How do I sort my memos by distance?
In the Memos tab, tap the sort icon (↑↓) in the top-right corner and choose Nearest. MemoMap will reorder the list from closest to farthest relative to your current location, with the distance shown on each row.
