Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 28, 2026

MemoMap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how MemoMap handles information when you use our iOS application.

The Short Version

MemoMap does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. Everything you record and every location you visit stays on your device, under your complete control.

Information We Do Not Collect

MemoMap does not collect, transmit, or share:

There are no user accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud sync. We have no servers that receive data from your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

MemoMap stores the following data locally on your iPhone only:

This data is never read by us and never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself.

Microphone Access

MemoMap requests access to your microphone solely to record voice memos. The microphone is only active while you are actively recording inside the app. We do not record in the background, and microphone access is never used for any other purpose.

Location Access

MemoMap requests access to your location ("While Using the App") to:

Your location is never tracked in the background, never stored on external servers, and never used for advertising or analytics.

Reverse geocoding — when MemoMap converts coordinates to a place name (e.g. "Union Square"), this request is made to Apple's Maps service via Apple's standard iOS APIs. Apple's own privacy policy governs this interaction. MemoMap does not send any additional data during this process.

Third-Party Services

MemoMap does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection SDKs. The only external APIs used are Apple's own system frameworks (MapKit, CoreLocation, AVFoundation), which are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

MemoMap does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal data at all, the app is safe for all ages.

Data Deletion

You are in full control of your data. To delete a memo and its audio file, swipe left on any item in the Memos tab and tap Delete. To remove all data, simply delete the MemoMap app from your device — all recordings and metadata are permanently erased.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
